"Fairly quick double-bagger, but the snowstorm added a little extra excitement/challenge. Bushwhacks are always a bit more daunting when visibility is low, and you are trying to route-find. I got creative, as you can see from my route map. For some reason I felt like tagging the hill just west of Jack's. After that I proceeded down across the saddle and up the west flank of Jack's. A bit of scrambling at the top, but nothing too bad. The snow really started picking up at this point, and I decided to put my expensive camera away. Not being able to see a damn thing, I crossed over to Crescent via the saddle, and up the NW side, which seemed the most obvious thing to do, but the topo lines on my map were a bit deceiving, as the northern ridge line ended up consisted of a repeated series of 15-30' high mini-crags, almost like this was a hogback snaking in and out of the ground. Anyway, I went for it because it was actually pretty fun scrambling, and I didn't feel like finding another way in that weather. That being said, after summiting crescent I opted for the western slopes, which ended up being a much easier route. " — LGH-Dan • Mar 26, 2017
"Lots of private property on all the mountains in this area. It was quite difficult to avoid and caused us to zig=zag all over the mountain in order to prevent us from walking right up to someone's house. That pared with the fact that there is no official trail made for a interesting day of route finding. Beautiful hike and a great mountain. " — IanWright • Jun 9, 2015
"Followed a road for a bit then went off trail to find our own. Careful of the private property - be respectful of the land and the things left by the land owners - beautiful valley and amazing flora along the way up. Spectacular views from the peak." — DaniB • Jun 9, 2015
