"This was exciting! The Beachcroft Trail is really cool, and switchbacks with all these meticulously placed steps. As we got higher up there was a bunch of ice, and it required spikes. The parts along the open cliffs were very icy and freaked me out quite a bit. The trail gets you close to the summit, but you have to go off trail to actually get there. "Plans change, life throws you curves, so what do you do? React, adapt, overcome. Went to bed planning to do one hike, only to be woken up by friend with a sick dog, one friend out, the hiking van out, the trail map and directions out with the navigator, plan B grab two other friends one other dog and take them up the hike you hiked last week. I so in enjoyed Huguenot Head last week, why not do it again. The weather was cooler today, the wind was brisker, the views were not as great, but the hike was still one I'd do again. A great day for a hike." — bwright • Apr 19, 2014
"Great day for a hike. We made a loop, taking the Beachcroft trail up Huguenot with a quick bushwack to the summit and then on to Champlain Mt, and down the North ridge trail to the Park loop road to Rt 3 parking lot. No snow or ice on the trail. Hiked in just my fleece shirt. 38 degrees at the start of the hike and 41 when we finished. " — bwright • Apr 13, 2014
