"This was on our radar for quite some time. Peakery told us it was the nearest summit to our base location. Well, nearest "as the crow flies". The weather reports for the Adirondacks looked pretty grim, so we decided on a closer hike. This mountain seemed the perfect one to attempt seeing as it was close by. Well, we thought it was be a straight forward out and back, no such luck. First of all, finding a spot to park at the side of what was considered a "road" was a challenge in itself. Then it was a 5km bushwhack through some tricky terrain. Thorns, slippery rock full of slimy green moss, lot's of up and downs, 3 creeks to negotiate, and then BOOM.....There she was, sheer cliffs and more wet slippery rocks !! We found a route that was climbable, and eventually got to the summit after a 2hr bushwhack. At the top, we found the highest point and built a small cairn to mark the summit.
All in all an eventful and very enjoyable and challenging hike. Now it's done, I wonder what Peakery throws up next, as our "Nearest to home goal"." — HikingViking • Apr 1, 2017
"Another bushwhack, this time to this "small" peak within a short drive of the Canada/US border. This was a more challenging bushwhack than what we have done recently, but as always it proved to be worth the effort with outstanding views." — RangersApprentice • Apr 1, 2017
