A circular walk from Ullswater, Set off on path up through Glencoyne woods, past "Seldom Seen" cottages, then cut up and over col to east of Sheffield Pike, dropped down and then up Glenridding Dodd. Here we had good views down to Ullswater and across to Place Fell. We then went back to the col and up Heron Pike by its SE ridge. The weather was improving, with some sun, but there was a strong wind as we got higher. Good views up to the Helvellyn ridge where there was some snow left near the summit. From here we went up onto Sheffield Pike, enjoyed good views all around. We descended W to Nick Head, then picked up the path around the north of the peak and back to Glencoyne woods and Ullswater.
