"Blake and I had a weather window of about 2 to 3 days so we decided to ski into the Elfin Lakes area. I skied and Blake snowshoed. The weather was cold and clear and we made it to the Elfin Shelter in 6 hours. We were fortunate to only have to share the cabin with a weasel and a few mice. ,
The next day we skiied up the Diamond Head to get a view of the south portion of the Neve One of our goals was to tackle the Neve in the near future. The route we took was to ski up to the col between the Gargoyles and the Columnar Peak.
. We then skied up the South Slope. On rhe way back to the shelter We skied down over to Columnar Peak. It was a long day and we headed back to the Elfin Lake Shelter.
That night the cloud moved in and the next day we skiied out. It was a great trip.
