"Shit conditions. Not enough snow, too much ice. Climbed the standard gully, cut left near the top to cut through a cornice instead of dealing with more ice up and right with no cornice." — mikesamson • Jun 3, 2023
"We skied the southeast couloir on Diadem Peak in gorgeous pow on the upper face and spring corn on the apron. We summitted about 9:30am and had a rock-paper-scissors for the rope on the way down. I lost. The cornice was climbable in one spot, overhanging the rest. First descent? Jamie Harris, Andrew Bird, Ian Button." — andrewskibird • Apr 25, 2014
"Ascended 1/3 of the standard couloir on Diadem peak then headed up on climber's left to the larger connected snowpatch. On top of the snow patch there is a steep gully we climbed (5th class) and then crossed the rock onto the steep thinner couloir on the left above the icefall. We ascended that until we could get up onto the glacier that connected to the col. We ascended Wooley first from the col as there was more snow and that was more important to take advantage of the freeze. We then came back to the col and summitted Diadem peak from there. The topo lines on the gps said that on top of the snow was the highest point. However, the gps labelled the actual peak of Diadem on the rock portion. So we took pictures of both.
