"I walked up through Pogonia village, taking the road south-east in the direction of Varko. At 38.78824N, 20.83126E, I took a rough grit road that wound its way up to a col near the Aghios Nikolaos chapel. A little way north of the col, near a collapsed animal shed at 38.79028N, 20.81622E, a rough path, now mainly used by goats, winds up steeply through karst landscape to the summit, sporting a large cairn and decapitated concrete trig point. The top of it, still with Greek army metal plate dated 1972, lies nearby. Stunning views of the Ionian islands and Acarnanian mountains. Return by outward route. Hot and sunny." — marktrengove • Sep 4, 2022
