"The 4wd track is gated directly from the Brooms Heads road so you have to park there and walk. Always keep right going up as there are a couple of forks. It took us 2hrs 20 mins at about 7/10 exertion. The gravel can be slippery on the way down so grippy shoes would have been better. Gets very hot and this was early spring so leave early and take water, however it is quite shady. The summit has a sort of power station thing there and the best views are not at the very top as it is not cleared of trees blocking the view.." — dusty • Sep 12, 2021
"While the advice said this should be a 3-4 hr walk , it was actually far less at about 2 Hrs . The track is a 4WD access track for a tower at the top, so except for a few bits of gravelly pebbles it was quite easily walked. I would not try it after rain though, both for this reason and the amount of mosquitos and marsh flies. Take a lot of repellent as they were horrendous. While it’s a nice climb, don’t do it if you are after a view. Large trees obscure almost every angle at the top and better partial views are on the way. That said what you can see is lovely vistas of the sea and the surrounding coastal areas. " — brown_eyed_girl71 • Dec 31, 2018
