"Overcast and windy, but not too cold. Initially planned to take the Skyline Trail out of the parking lot next to Shea Memorial Rink, but both trails passing Saint Moritz Pond were completely flooded and impassable. Rest of the hike went off without a hitch. There is no trail up Rattlesnake Hill, but the boulder field is easily navigable and a fun challenge." — JCalautti • Apr 21, 2024
"Traversed the Blue Hills on the Skyline trail. warm day for (almost) winter, low 30's. Light rain for the first half of the hike, but cleared up by the end of it. Wet trail on and off, but most of the ascents ere rocky. No ice, but slippery from the rain at times. A lot of up and down, but worth it to knock out 12 summits. 6.9 miles in 3.5 hours, 2325 ft elevation gain." — gregoryskiba • Dec 17, 2022
"in town for several days for work, managed to fit in some peaks. Humid day! but almost entirely shady which helped a lot. a few spots offered great views of the city, ocean and nearby countryside." — marc • Aug 1, 2020
"Summited during a 9 mile “hill bagging” day along the entirety of the Skyline Trail in Blue Hills Reservation. Used this as a prep hike for an upcoming trip and made the bad decision to carry full weight backpacks. I did not realize how technical this trail was, especially on a rainy day with so many steep and slippery sections. Totally underestimated these hills!" — SteveG • Apr 28, 2019
"Cloudy today and about 35-40 degrees, still a bit of snow on the ground and a few sections of hill that were coated in ice (makes it all the more fun!). We took Skyline up the hill, and followed the red trail back down, and I'm glad that we did because descending the rocky ledge on Skyline would have been impossible with the coating of ice (and the old running sneakers that we were wearing). Glad the rain held off long enough to get the hike in!" — ErinLouise • Jan 18, 2015
