"Nice hike from Middlesex Town Forest up to Owlshead. No marked trail, but you just go up to the opposite side of Middlesex Notch Road from the Chases Mtn Trail and keeping going up to the west until you get to the top. An old stone foundation along the way but not much to see at the top - at least not in summer. Only took 25 minutes from parking lot to top. Then headed back down to the old road toward the Waterbury side, ran down to the beaver dams and ponds in the Notch, then doubled back to the Chases Mtn trail, running to the end of that (incl Middlesex Notch peak and Chases Mtn), and then back to the middlesex Town Forest parking area. "Less than 20 minutes (trail running) into the Chases Mountain Trail from the Middlesex Town Forest parking lot, you come to Middlesex Notch. Very nice new trail. Kudos to the folks building and marking it." — seansheehan • Jun 27, 2020
