"3rd peak of the day. Didnt run into many people which was nice. Ridge trail was a long distance of upward climbing. The newbie hiker I brought along earned some stripes on this one. Great summit, awesome views. Hike back was easy and fast." — mikewilliamsjr • Aug 4, 2020
"Champlain Mountain via the famous Precipice Trail. Fun scramble and climb. After summiting, we bushwhacked over to Huguenot Head and then hiked the north ridge back to the car." — wacbravo • Oct 6, 2019
"After taking ferry over from Schoodic walked from Bar Harbor to Precipice trailhead, up Precipice then down North Ridge to Black & Orange then back to town just in time for the return ferry." — SteveG • Aug 2, 2019
"When I arrived at Acadia on Monday, I learned that the Precipice Tr had been reopened. Having never done it, I opted to do it. It was a steep trail amongst the cliffs. The final stretch had me slightly bothered but there were plenty of metal rungs to grab onto. It was great to finally say that I have hiked this trail. Now onwards to Beehive and Gorham. "Start/finish at Sand Beach. Hiked with a group of 4. The Beehive is such a fun trail (though not for the faint of heart). Adding the Champlain Mountain summit adds to the sense of accomplishment of the hike, since the Beehive is such a short trail. In the late summer you can probably go swimming at the end - in June the water was still too cold for me!" — bruno-osb • Jun 24, 2016
"Took my friend up Precipice..always a favorite. Beautiful day, beautiful view. However, happened on a huge pile of human poop right on the ledge. I guess I can't blame them..it's not like you can sneak off into the woods...and if you kick it off, it's going to land on hikers below. Still, ewww." — erinjordon • Sep 12, 2014
"Great day for a hike. This hike was planned with six people planning on going, and as usual it ended up just the two of us. The flu bug took out three and a sinus infection the other. It was still a good hike, we beat the rain. The weather was cool but no jackets were needed. No snow or ice, and just a we bit of mud on the trail. " — bwright • Apr 13, 2014
