So you've finished the NH 4000 footers and are hankering for your next New Hampshire peak challenge? This is the natural next challenge to tackle: peaks over 3000 ft high with at least 200 ft prominence (the same prominence threshold as the NH 4000 Footers). Also like the NH 4000 Footers, this challenge includes only peaks that have trails, paths, or open ledges to their summits... no bushwhacking required! Based on a subset of Eric Savage's 3000T list.

"Began at 10:45am. The base of the mountain was a little muddy, and fairly buggy, but nothing copious amounts of bugspray couldn't handle. White Dot starts off at a moderate include until you pass Cascade Link, then the steep uphill and rock-scrambling begins. Luckily the trail was completely dry and devoid of any ice or snow, although it was very packed with people, especially as we neared the summit. From one of the outlooks on White Dot we were able to just barely see the Boston skyline above the southern Wapack Range. We reached the summit at 12:45 and made our way to Dublin Peak to cross off a Monadnock Subpeak. The trail to Dublin Peak was much quieter than the summit and was a great place to have lunch before continuing on to Town Line Peak via the Pumpelly Trail to cross off another Subpeak. We returned to the Monadnock State Park HQ via the Cascade Link which criss-crosses a stream. After rain I'm sure the water level is much higher, but on our hike it was fairly low and easily crossable. Returned to the car around 3:45pm." — JCalautti • Apr 27, 2024
"We wanted a short hike with views to do before any rain came in and was close to our motel in Twin Mountain. Nice climb to Martha with some decent views then onto Martha’s mile(@0.8 miles) to reach the tiny bump of Owlshead. Even better views so it was worth the easy stroll back and forth. Little spikes all day with only a few icy spots on the last pitch to Owlshead. First time for Ed and John, upon returning to the car they approved the choice of peaks." — Nimblefoot • Mar 2, 2024
"A hike for a Calendar Day and for Molly's Grid. We did a car spot so we could grab NE Cannonball for her NEHHw. From Lafayette Campground, we hiked up a hard packed trail up to Lonesome Lake. We then hiked into the col. A short steep hike took us to NE Cannonball. We carefully came down (some slick spots) then headed up Cannon. There was a lot of really icy areas and we had to go off trail for a few of them. Once above them, it was a quick hike to the summit of Cannon. It was windy on the summit and some low cloud cover. We were not socked in, but Franconia Ridge was not visible. We came down the KRT down to the Tramway." — newenglandwarrior • Mar 2, 2024
"Went up Manning trail and 900 ft elevation climb in, I lost the trail. It was quite a scary adventure getting back on track! Got to firescrew and easy shot to Mount Cardigan from there. Beautiful view from the top. Went done Clark trail to Holt. Was not steep at all and was able to jog most of the way down which was nice." — HikingMomMC • Oct 19, 2023
"Beautiful fall morning hike. Straight shot up White Dot, spent 50% of the time climbing with hats and feet. Clear view at the top. Steep downhill climb taking White Cross. A little wet from the rain but easy to navigate." — HikingMomMC • Oct 4, 2023
