"After a big breakfast with the family I headed out mid-morning for a short saunter on the TRT to a reasonable jump off point for the ridge. Interesting climb to the summit weaving through large rocks/boulders and looking for any open shoots to gain ellie. Nice Rocky top with the expected views. Once back to the meadow board walks I headed up to the Tahoe Meadow TH to red line that 1.2 miles of the trail, leaving the next short section up to Mount Rose TH for next time. "Hiked a wonderful section of the TRT from Tahoe Meadows boardwalk to Tunnel Creek road. My original intention was to just to get to Diamond Peak and head back but in my haste I ended up at the road for a WTF moment. On my way back popped up the use path to tag the peak and get another view. Totally dry trail and plenty of outstanding views, I will re-do it some day and get more of the peaks along the way. Had the trail to myself most of the day." — Nimblefoot • Jul 19, 2023
"A solo ascent, for a change of pace, from 431. A bit sluggish as I’m still trying to adjust to the heat/altitude combo after leaving NY a few days ago. I left the trail runners in the car and went with light boots not knowing how much snow I would encounter. The few snow patches were fun to cruise through and didn’t require the wearing of any boot. Stream crossings were easy to hop across or simply stomp through." — Nimblefoot • Jul 18, 2023
"Was a great day to go hiking and this hike isn't a joke. Most of the elevation gain comes from hiking up the side of the mountain. When you get to Rose Knob Peak, there is a very small use trail that takes you to the summit. It can be pretty easy to lose, but luckily, you can make up your own route to the actual summit.
The view of the Lake Tahoe area is worth the effort of bagging this peak. " — alexehagen • Sep 24, 2022
"Great hike on Saturday, a bit hazy from all the smoke, but it started clearing on our descent. I logged it at 10.62 miles from the trail head, took about 4 hours and 45 minutes including stopping at the falls and eating lunch at the summit! " — lorej22 • Jul 31, 2021
