"Beautifully warm day, much better weather than anticipated. Nice views of Popo and Ixta. Great to see mexico city from above despite the smog. Seemed to be another popular tourist hike. no problems. " — MarkJPerkins • Jan 12, 2024
"Highest peak in Mexico City. Also highest peak in the province of the Federal District (#8 in the MX State Highest Point List). We walked about ~8 kilometers and gained ~700 meters. Trail starts quite steep through the woods, then through open mountain slopes. The last part of the trail is quite easy. Very strong wind was blowing all the way. I had not anemometer with me, but i have very similar feeling when opening car window at ~100 km/h.. (maybe that's the edge of hurricane Barbara..) In the morning it was cloudy, but when I climbed up, the clouds vanished and I had excellent views to all directions. It is a great hike." — Deividas • May 30, 2013
"I left the hostel in Mexico city early and reached the Pico de Aguila succesfully. Thanks to the five scouts from Coyoacan and the mountain dog showing me the way and the two Mexican hikers that gave me a ride back to the capital! It was clouded going up but once at the top I had some good views of the surrounding hills now and then. Great day trip although it took me a while to get there by public transport." — ncst • Jul 11, 2009
