"Camped in the White Mountains across from the trail head to Caribou, awesome hike. After a very rainy weekend we snuck in this hike in between the showers. This is by far my favorite hike in Evans Notch. The trail is not steep but consistent and good length for one of our first longer hikes. The waterfalls along this trail are amazing. Great photo opportunity's and plenty of cool water to splash in. It is not very well marked however, but following the most likely trail will get you to the top basically a stream bed as you gain elevation. It's a very quiet trail, lot's of moose had been through, and the summit was quiet as well. It's worth taking your time to enjoy the many waterfalls and scenery. Although you don't get any views until the summit it's spectacular at the top. Awesome wilderness view! Spent about and hour and a half at the summit until storm clouds rolled in. Worth multiple trips for sure, there are also no bridges on this trail, so in the first mile be prepared to wade through a stream especially in spring. Other crossings are tricky but no wading. "Some of the best views in the White mountains with out the crowds. I set out just to view Kees Falls along the Caribou Trail and decided to summit via the Caribou Trail. A great hike and a very large rocky summit. Passed a few groups on the way down and all in all it was a great 7 mile round trip. Plan on doing it again up the mud brook trail, route 113 has many awesome places to check out on the way." — tvanrosendael • Jun 4, 2011
