"Just below this mountain is Cala del Caballo (where I hit my head in a cave a few weeks ago) so I wanted to come back here to reset the time. Steep climb through bushes without a path and most of the time jumping from stone to stone. Some mastic trees and palmettos dot the landscape covered mostly with esparto grass. At the top there are the remains of an abandoned antenna and beautiful views of the small town of Portman and its bay, in the distance you can see the silhouette of Monte de Las Cenizas." — franciscobirruezo • Nov 5, 2023
"We climb this mountain from the GR 92 route near Portman. A light breeze blows that refreshes us during the ascent. We are lucky because an important part of Spain today has heat alert. The mountain has no trees except a few on the north side and neither has clear trails to climb. From the summit we see the regeneration works of La Bahía de Portman and also fish farms for tuna farming.
In this area, the waste from the silver mines was thrown into the sea for decades and now attempts are being made to solve it.
When we get down we go to the Cola del Caballo cove where some young people try to fish." — franciscobirruezo • Aug 4, 2018
