"Enjoyed a nice small hike up to Brown summit. A storm was rolling through so we had blue skies, then sleet then blue skies again and a lot of wind. The snow was down to a mushy 4 - 6 inches with some spring peaking through on the lower trail so we stuck to spikes. Once we hit the junction and made the initial turn we were soon breaking trail and it was very deep in some areas where we postholed 3 feet in places. The hike itself is fairly easy with only a few moderate spots of up, the markers are distant in some places but the trail was easy to locate even with snow. We initially were continuing on to Fifth but did not want to damage the trail any further for others so we turned around at Brown. Nice views of the narrows today." — deb-and-rob • Apr 5, 2014
