"Parked at Saddle Tor South Car Park and followed the track up to Saddle Tor to enjoy views of the south coast in the distance. Seeing Haytor Rocks were crowded already I trekked in a clockwise loop around the area taking in a number of tors and rocks as well as waist high ferns on the north side of the downs. Eventually ending up at the North Summit of Black Hill before skewing back across Haytor Down and, after a quick trip to the abandoned quarry, up Haytor itself! Walking down through the car park and past the huge queue for the ice cream van, Pinchaford Ball was next, then on to Bag Tor before returning to the road and skirting the south side of Saddle Tor before reaching the car once more. Solo, overcast, 13.5km." — MuchMoorWalking • Jun 26, 2021
"Sunday morning: Wanted to visit a new tor close to home and had opted to do Hookney Tor (visited before) and Shapley Tor (new for me) . Got up there and the mist was low and had decided to do a lower peak - Bag Tor. This little gem has been hiding down the slopes and I've been past countless times but never visited. Time to remedy that! Parked up at the Haytor higher car park. Those tors tops shrouded in mist. Bag Tor and the view down to Teignmouth quite sunny. Made our way down to the tor - yes, down. Nice rock basin, nice geology, very fine views and out the way. Perfect. Made our way back up to the car park which was strange going up to the road. A large coach with people flocking up to Haytor - same sight as always :) How I'd never been to Bag Tor before now is bad on my part and I'll definitely visit again!" — torbagger • Dec 3, 2017
