I've been meaning to do this hike for a while, and the opportunity arose to do it. My first time hiking in the mountains above Jerome, and it was such a gorgeous day. A bit chilly to start and then warming up nicely (I even got a mild sunburn for my trouble, oops). A great trail, although to get to the Woodchute Mountain "summit" is some cross-country travel. I never found even a use trail. There is a cairn to mark the high point, and there are some nice views if you get closer to the edge, but I wouldn't say it was a spectacular summit, per se. A gorgeous day and a good hike with wonderful friends made everything worthwhile, and that's what matters the most.
