West Dorset is on Vermont's list of mountains over 3500'. The trail starts at the end of Tower Rd. & follows an old logging road for quite
some time before it narrows into the trail leading up Dorset Peak which is on the New England's 100 highest list. At the saddle or height
of land between Dorset & West Dorset, I followed a faint herd path towards West Dorset. The path soon disappeared & a full on bushwhack was now the case. Towards the top the trees were thick & I soon found myself totally soaked. The top is a long flat ridge
with no views & no cannister as well. I decided not to backtrack on the descent but rather take a line which would bring me further
down the Dorset trail. It worked albeit some thick & steep sections. All in all a good hike & getting more used to the bushwhacks.
