For breakfast we fueled up with a slice of veggie quiche, slice of ham frittata and giant cinnamon bun from the Sugar Pine Cakery. We headed up to Alpine Meadows ski area to find a shady spot to park then start up one of the access roads. Had the summit to ourselves while taking in the view over to Twin Peaks and Stanford Rock, up to Squaw Peak and of out over the Lake. Nice and breezy on the final ridge ascent. No time for Scotts Peak as we had to get back and say our goodbyes to the remainder of the family heading back to the Bay Area. Now we have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beach before catching our red-eye out of Reno.
