On a Waymark Holidays trip led by Tony Rogers. We left Refugio Vega de Urriellu with full packs and walked south on the path we had used the previous day for our return. The forecast was bad and we set out in rain and mist. We nearly went down to the valley for a lower route to our next hut. It cleared up in time for us to see clearly the rocks (which have some fixed ropes) leading up to Collado de Horcados Rojas. The fixed ropes were not needed. We all then climbed to the summit of Torre de los Horcados Rojos. We returned to the col and continued on good tracks and paths to Hotel – Refugio Odriozola (o de Áliva). This had en suite bath and shower, bar and restaurant! We were in mist on the approach to the hut, where we were told it had been misty all day.
