A circular walk, taking in 5 peaks. Set off from near Sandwick at Ullswater. Ullswater at 9 miles long is the 2nd longest lake in England. Walked crossed a stream and up the slopes of Sleet Fell to High Dodd. We then dropped down to a col and up via Hart Crags to Place Fell summit. Here we had good views of the surrounding Lake District peaks including Helvellyn to the west and High Street to the east, also along and across Ullswater. From here we headed north to The Knight, enjoying improving weather and good views all around. We then headed onto Birk Fell and Low Birk Fell, before dropping down to Sandwick and returning to our start point
