We've had the wettest June in over 100 years in the UK, which means that most of the small streams are in spate and the ground is very waterlogged, but the hills are very green. We set off to climb this small hill, hopefully between showers, but it was not to be, after less than a mile, the heavens opened and we were soaked. We set off on a hot day from Hethpool in the College valley, E over some flat wet ground, then on a narrow wet slippy path above a waterfall, in to an area that must be infrequently walked as the vegetation was thick and head high. We climbed N up through the vegetation in pouring rain and the path improved as the shrubbery thinned out. We eventually came to the ridge and turned SW to follow it to the summit. To return, we retraced our steps to the waterfall, then crossed a bridge went through the forest and turned W on the St Cuthberts way , along distance footpath, back to our start point
