This summit forms part of a long ridge on a grassy range of hills called "The Dodds". We walked up this peak as part of a traverse of these hills on a fine sunny day. The walk started at High Row near Dockray. We ascended to Randerside; Great Dodd; then Watson Dodd, before continuing onto Stybarrow Dodd. This group of hills is characterised by sweeping grassy slopes, with a few rocky outcrops. The high level horseshoe walk continued to White Stones; Hart Side and Birkett Fell, then dropped steeply down to Dowthwaite Head, with a mile road walk back to our start point.
