Leading a party of boys from the King's School, Chester. After ascending Helvellyn via Grisedale Tarn. Along Striding Edge (initial slope steep but snow conditions just right). Down to Red Tarn Beck and to Catstye Cam. Hence to Helvellyn via Swirral Edge. Greatly enjoyed by party. Mist now descended though it had threatened all day. Descended by path to Wythburn for bus to Grasmere.
