Great spring hike up from Greenwood Furnace State Park on the Standing Stone Trail--about 9 miles to the hawk watch deck. Fantastic views of Amish farmland below. An April snowstorm turned us back and kept us from spending the night up there. I've also done this trail in the summer, when it's really treacherous because the endless rocks underfoot are hidden by ferns and "jaggers" (as they say around here). It's much faster and more pleasant when there's less vegetation--more views, too.
