Cairngorm Club Alpine Meet. With a fellow member. After an unsuccessful attempt on Dufourspitze. From Monte Rosa Hütte we reversed the hut approach route to reach Gornergrat. We followed the ridge path up the Hohtälligrat, over its summit (Hohtälli, 3286.3m) and then down the ESE ridge to a col at 3245m. The route goes on the south side of the ridge for a little way before the ridge is regained, followed by easy rocks to the summit of Stockhorn. We reversed the route and went down the Gornergrat railway to Zermatt.
