Excellent day of Blackmount ridge wandering in crystal clear breezy conditions. Great views, beautiful unspoilt wild scenery. An anti-clockwise guidebook circuit plus some minor peaks. Made it back to Victoria Bridge car park exactly at sunset after a quick dip in a Clashgour stream soaking up the last suns rays. Driving home through a pitch black Glencoe a few head torches flickered high up of those who hadn’t made it back in time; the nights are drawing in now for long mountain days. NB Found out too late Clashgour farm discourages walkers using their vehicle access track from the farm down to where it meets the river; at the bottom are snotty signs pointing you on the longer riverside path while if descending (like me) there were no signs but two unleashed sheepdogs loped over to “say hello” (a grumpy barky old one baring it’s teeth like I was some sheep plus a friendly bouncy young dog).
