From the small village of Steins, just off I-10, cross the railroad tracks onto CR-A012. Stay on A-012 for a while, then left (west) at the street sign for Doubtful Canyon (A014). Steins Peak is visible. The road will soon merge with A015 (Braidfoot Rd). As you near the northeast side of Steins Peak, Braidfoot Rd will enter a wash - don't proceed any further unless you have 4WD, as the wash is soft sand. A car will have no problem making it to this point (wash) as the roads are in good condition. Braidfoot Rd deadends at a ranch which happens to be on the Arizona side of the AZ-NM state line. From the end of the road I walked south then went up the western ridge which had some exposure.
End of Braidfoot Road (A015) - then south to a ridge going up west side of HP
