Solo. From car parking area at NO147800. Up path towards Carn an Tuirc. Near the burn junction at NO158803 I struck up hillside over short heather, grass and moss to reach summit of Carn Dubh. The cairn on the summit and the knoll SW do appear to be of similar height, as reported in the Database of British and Irish Hills on-line version. From Carn Dubh I descended SE on track that comes over the summit area. I used a path of sorts which continues up to the summit plateau of Carn an Tuirc. The summit cairn of Carn an Tuirc is clearly not the highest point as confirmed by the surveying reported in the Database of British and Irish Hills. From Carn an Tuirc I went down to col with Cairn of Claise and went up to summit of Cairn of Claise. There is a finely constructed cairn on summit of Cairn of Claise. From the summit of Cairn of Claise I followed a path alongside a wall to its end, continuing to join the Monega Pass path. I deviated from it to take in Sròn na Gaoithe. This is a rather shapely peak in spite of its modest drop. Then down to the road and car.
