My first time to Lee's Ferry and Marble Canyon, AZ! The Spencer Trail is a very well-maintained, although steep and at times rocky and sand-covered, trail that ascends about 1500' in about a mile in a half. You're treated to spectacular views of the Colorado River as you ascend the canyon wall, and on top of the mesa, you have views of Page and Navajo Mountain to the north, the Colorado River on the other side of the mesa, and you can see for hundreds of miles depending on the weather condition. Just gorgeous! We kept a steady pace on the way up; the wind his us full-force when we reached the top, but going up past the official end of the trail to get the overlook was absolutely worth it. Very cool sandstone formations on top of the mesa. Stopped at the historic Navajo Bridge NPS interpretive center after descending and on our way back to Phoenix.
