On 7/3/2021, my friend Hank and I attempted to hike up South Sister after East and Middle Sisters. After summiting the two sisters, we could see a threat of thunder and lightning coming our way, so we decided to get back to the truck and come back another day.

Followed Andy Burow's Gaia tracks. On the way up, we followed the tracks on the right. Scree for about 2400', up to 10,500' elevation was tough. At times, I was crawling on all fours. The brush was sparse. Last half mile had a gradual grade along shale to the summit.

We took the left track down not knowing the brush was crazy thick, making our decent exhausting and time consuming. Strongly advise not to take the left track down.
