11.9.2020...JimBilNan Wilderness, South Cove & Shark Fin peaks, solo. 10 miles, 2,800’ gain, 5:14hrs. I snuck into this area peakbagging when Covid Shut down LMNRA. I wasn’t able to get these because I was sneaking in thru VoF and they shut it down soon after.....then the heat came and I had to wait. Got them today! It was 50 deg at a nearly 10am start but as I headed down it warmed up quite a bit. It had me stripping off clothing down to a running bra and shorts. This remote area is so gorgeous. It’s a chaotic landscape with rugged beauty. I saw wild horses and almost stepped on a baby rattler. Saw a herd of Bighorn next to the road on the drive in.
