With two friends. We left Lochdrum and went along track to Allt a’ Mhadaidh, then up the hillside to Beinn Liath Mhór Fannaich. We were now in thick mist. It was very cold. We reached Sgurr Mór; the mist lifted just before we reached the summit. My friends went on to Meall nam Peithirean. I went on to Carn na Criche. I found a path (not shown on map); it starts by a cairn on the col between Carn na Criche and Meall a’ Chrasgaidh. It proceeds a few degrees E of N, above cliffs and hence to Creag Raineach Mór. High up it crossed steep snow and ice fields needing ~100 steps cut (I had no crampons with me). Eventually I joined the path by Allt a’ Mhadaidh.
