The drive to Tucson from Las Vegas was long but uneventful. After checking into our hotel, and going out and finding dinner (The Parish, southern/Louisiana comfort food with a Southwestern flare, A+ would recommend) I felt restless, but also not really willing to drive into downtown. That had been the plan, but... I didn't want to go to a bar or parallel park for that matter. So... we looked at other things. And found that there was a little peak park that you drove most of the way to the top and then could hike to the top of the peak. A peak for me? And not too long or steep of a walk for Joe (not a peakbagger/hiker)? Sounds like a plan. The haze from the California wildfires was thick over Tuscon, but we still had decent views of the city itself. A good way to start our vacation.
