1st day of a weeks walking trip to Selva Val Gardena, so I revisited a walk that I had done in the past. We went up the new funicular from Ortesi to Rasciesa. Good views of Sassolungo and the Odle range from the top. We then walked along the ridge, dropping and then climbing to the Passo di Brogles. Here we drop to the hutte at 2045m, then drop further into the valley head, before climbing up a steep zig zag path over the scree and into a steep gulley surrounded by cliffs known as the Pana Scharte. We climbed steeply up, with the aid of fixed metal rungs and wires, before emerging onto the narrow grassy summit ridge, where it is an easy stroll up to the summit. From the summit, there is an easy stroll down to a cable car for a return trip to Ortesi, or you can walk across the grassy bowl to Col Raiser and then down to Selva or St Christina
