Parked at Scorhill and, after visiting the stone circle, walked an anti-clockwise northerly route over to Rival Tor and then onto Watern Tor which was swarming with teenagers practising for Ten Tors taking a breather. Onwards across Watern Down towards Frank Phillpott’s ‘peat paths’ aiding the crossing up to and over Whitehorse Hill. Lunch on Quintin’s Man cairn and then pretty much a straight line back to the car via Manga Rock and the Teign Toleman Stone over the river Teign. 18.6km. Sunny. Solo.
