As you drive I-25 through Wagon Mound you will see several mesas, the two to the north are Santa Clara and Jarosa Mesas. Both mesas are easily accessible from NM-120 although they are on unposted private property. The mesa cliff band requires a scramble up either end of the mesa. Since I had just done Jarosa Mesa I went up the west end. The mesa is fairly flat on top, nothing marks the highpoint. At the east end there's an old comm site. Nice views of the surrounding area.
