I parked right on the shoulder on Route 178 below Salsberry Pass & headed toward the peak. There are many washes & low ridges out that way & there's no real right or wrong way. Just keep moving toward the peak. The flowers were in full bloom & it was stunning! This whole area is so pretty. I cut to the east early to gain the summit ridge thinking I'd like the views from the traverse. It was gorgeous, but the wild formations up top were often impassable & required dropping below, side-hilling & then regaining the ridge. I never really looked at my gps, so didn't realize that the bump before what looked like the highpoint was labeled as the peak on maps. In any event, I went over that one too. The register is on the south summit & that's the one that looked like the higher point to me. Getting from the labeled bump to the south summit had the most scrambling. It wasn't too bad, but was on very loose crumbly rock & had some mild exposure in a couple of places. I'm including my gps tracks, since it's a different route than I've seen anywhere. Just know that you'll have to do some finagling along the ridge if you follow it. Like everything out this way, there's lots of loose rock!
