Quick and easy little hill of historical/military interest
* Explore Sai Wan Fort / gun battery at the top (free admission)
* Commanding views over Junk Bay and Victoria Harbour eastern approaches
* 175 year old trig marker stone at the summit https://www.hku.hk/press/press-releases/detail/13739.html
Start/finish Shau Kei Wan MTR exit C
Go Left on Long Mung St, then left to the tram terminus. Continue up Wang Wa St and at the corner (after the temple) ascend the steps between Ming Wah blocks G and H. This is of the oldest HK public housing schemes, now being redeveloped into high rises https://www.hkhs.com/en/housing_archive/id/25 .
Go right, then left on the busy Chai Wan Rd to the entrance of Lei Yue Mun Park where you have two options:
* Stepped path beginning at the side of Chai Wan North #2 Pumping Station
* Gentle gradient Morning Trail
The morning trail initially runs alongside the perimeter fence of Lyemun Barracks. Some ‘Prohibited Area’ signs but no worries, the inactive barracks are now a government holiday village https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lei_Yue_Mun_Park_and_Holiday_Village
I did notice a couple of ribbon trails up there, and might return to see where they go
