Today I am traveling near the city of Cartagena, to Mount Roldán, the day is almost spring-like and sunny. I come across numerous hikers on the trail doing this same route.
The trail is well marked and is quite steep with a difference in elevation of about 1,200 feet. As you go up the north side there is plenty of vegetation and shaded areas. At the top I see the old ruins of military buildings. Afterwards, a track takes me to the 427m peak and from there I return along Cerro de Roldán where I eat something and enjoy some good views. Someone has placed a plaque in this place with the message "I choose to live" and planted a young Carob tree.
Down there I see leaving the port
some passenger cruise ships and other container ships. When I go back, several sailboats take to the sea to take advantage of the afternoon breeze
