Easy route with no steep sections on the Appalachian Trail (AT) and Benton MacKaye Trail (BMT). Fighting fatigue, Gina and I hiked a slow pace, and she turned back after crossing the creek and climbing through the rhododendron tunnel. Between there and the gap where I took the BMT following the Rich Mountain ridge line, I saw a Pileated Woodpecker. On the way back I noticed a pair of trilliums right by the AT.
