From Martindale New Church, with DB. We hiked to the head of Bannerdale. We then ascended to the ridge, and, beyond, a frozen Angle Tarn. We scaled Rest Dodd by its western ridge. A descent to the col, and ascent of The Nab followed. We descended the fell by its western flank, past a red deer herd, and then back by our outward route. Sunshine, cloud and a chilly north-west wind.
