11/18/23: Paul and I parked at the junction of Bard Creek Rd(CR252) and FSR778. Pretty easy travel up the 4WD road to the Queen City Spur(778.2a) which ends at the Sunburst Tunnels. A short social trail leads to a short pitch of clean bushwhacking and some krumholz navigation to the alpine open country with great views of the Bard Massif. From the summit ridge, Central Front Range views abound. Shortly after coming off the summit to the northeast we picked up a jeep track down to Democrat Mtn and then the Silver Gulch Jeep trail (778.1) to Columbia Mtn and back out via FSR778. Persistent snow cover and cold windy conditions but never needed trax. (10/3500)
