My dog, Jake, and I tried following the All Trails app along a trail that kept hiding from little use and no markers. The earth was decently worn, so we were able to make our way down to the China Creek and have a sip and play. The hike out of the creek bed was steep and unseasonably warm. We couldn't do the technical loop that demanded all fours, but we were able to take a side trail to reach the stunning peak. Rock climbers greeted us as we passed them and enjoyed lunch with a view. Although a mere 3 miles, it was a rough 1,000 feet of climbing.
