We parked beside the D 36 Croix de St-Robert pass road at 45.56382 degrees north; 002.83134 degrees east, where a number of cars can be parked without blocking the road. We took the trail up between cow pastures to a col at 1529m. Here the eroded trail climbs in a series of zig-zags up the south-west ridge to a cross, and summit cairn beyond. Good views of the whole Monts Dore caldera. We descended by our outward route, with me making a short detour to climb to the unmarked summit of Puy de Mareilh, before heading back down to the road by the outward route from the col. With ALT.
