My friend and I departed at 7am from along side highway 4, headed up the "trail" or lack of, following sparsely flagged trees through very steep new and old growth forest. We reached the treeline/alpine and dropped our camp gear and carried on to the top. The upper portion is a series of very steep rock faces all the way to the summit. We reached the the peak 6.5 hours from our departure. Although fogged/clouded in we got a few breaks and glimpses through to the valleys below. We then returned down and camped at the tree line cliff. Descending from there in the morning took 3.5.
