After taking the cable car up from Super Lioran, we followed the trail, with many others, to the summit - a spacious area with great views. We then descended past the facilities to Pas des Alpins, leaving the ski trail to climb on a path up to the summit of Puy du Rocher.

We then followed the narrow north ridge, with some light scrambling in places protected by metal rungs, down to the col at l'Aiguillon. There the trail headed south-west, before leading down the steep north-west ridge in a series of zig-zags, eventually entering a beech forest, still keeping to the ridge crest over a minor top. After this point it headed down, becoming a wider grassy trail joining a ski run down to Super Lioran. With ALT.

I liked these mountains - far more imposing than les Monts Dore to the north.
