From Refugio de Vegarredonda. On a Waymark Holidays trip led by Tony Rogers. From the refugio we took the path to the south of the hut which leads westwards and then southwards. We looked at Refugio ICONA shown on the map as in ruins, but now restored with some plain bunks, but no facilities ie like a Scottish bothy. We reached Mirador to Ordiales (a good viewpoint). We took the route marked on the map to Pico Cotalba (2026m). We continued over Torre de la Canal Vaquera; most scrambled up Poyón Sur. Some of us ascended El Requexón. We descended to Refugio de Vegarredonda.
